Young Equestrians is a program created by the British Equestrian Federation in collaboration with the Pony Club.

The project encourages young people aged 13-18 to reconnect and engage with the equestrian sport through social clubs that give the participants more choice and freedom.

The club has been designed to help the participants make new friends, develop skills, have fun, try out some of the horse sports available and get fit in the fresh air.

Our riding sessions with the Young Equestrians are usually delivered by our more senior staff giving the club members in-depth knowledge of the different disciplines that they can take away and apply to any riding situation. They are varied in the type of riding they do and they get to ride a wide range of horses, some they may be educating and some that might assist in educating the rider.

The club is designed to enable the members to have a voice. When it comes to the trips out that we will be doing with them, they get to choose what they would like to do. Giving them more choice gives them more independence and helps them feel involved in the club.
